DD2 Education Foundation's Annual Fundraiser to Support Teachers and Students Set for March 11th

Dorchester County, S.C. - The Dorchester Two Educational Foundation is set to host its largest annual fundraiser, The Big Event, to support teachers and students in the DD2 school district. The event is presented by Scout Boats and is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 6-10 p.m. at The Ponds Farmhouse, located at 326 Hundred Oaks Pkwy, Summerville, SC.

The event, which is expected to have over 400 attendees, will be a Miami-themed night featuring catering, games, and both silent and live auctions. Tickets can be purchased at https://dd2foundation.org/events/bigevent. All proceeds from the event will go towards providing enhanced educational opportunities to DD2 teachers and students.

Recent Foundation projects include implementing $161,000 worth of hydroponic gardens to create STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) education opportunities for students with special needs at each DD2 school, using the DonorsChoose matching opportunity to fully fund 134 teachers’ projects, totaling $98,000, connecting 46 educators to almost $77,000 in STEAM grants from the Bosch Community Fund, providing a total of $13,600 in gift cards to all first-year teachers for the 2022-2023 back-to-school season, and treating the 2022 DD2 Teacher of the Year to an all-inclusive trip to Mexico.

Foundation Executive Director Ralph Hayes encourages interested parties to purchase tickets for The Big Event to support DD2 teachers and students. For questions or sponsorship information, he can be contacted at 843.830.3443 or rahayes@dorchester2.k12.sc.us.
