Columbia, S.C. - Today in the South Carolina State House, the bill (H. 3961) to transition Dorchester District Two School Board elections to single-member district elections has made further progress. Second reading of the bill was passed with no opposition.
Delegation leaders received unanimous consent from the legislative body to consider the third and final reading of the bill on the next legislative day, which would be Tuesday. The bill is likely to pass third reading Tuesday, which will then send the bill to the State Senate. If passed on the Senate floor, the bill would quickly make its way to the Governor's desk.
