Dorchester County, S.C. - Steven Wright, the current chairman of the Dorchester County GOP, announced on social media this week that he has received endorsements from State Representative Chris Murphy and Dorchester County Council Chairman Todd Friddle ahead of his upcoming reelection campaign.
Wright, who has served as the GOP chairman since 2021, made the announcement on his personal Facebook page.
"When I was a sophomore in high school Representative Chris Murphy took a chance on me and allowed me to work on his first campaign for State House. I owe a great deal of credit to him for where I am today. I am honored to have his endorsement for reelection!", said Wright.
Wright is running unopposed in his reelection bid, which will take place later this spring. He has been instrumental in helping the GOP gain ground in the county, and his leadership has helped to solidify the party's influence in local politics.
Representative Murphy and Council Chairman Friddle both spoke highly of Wright's leadership and the positive impact he has had on the county.
Wright's endorsements are a significant boost for his reelection campaign, and they demonstrate the broad support he has among local leaders and party members. As he prepares to enter his next term as GOP chairman, he remains committed to advancing the conservative cause in Dorchester County.
