Charleston, S.C. - Former Chairman of the Dorchester County Republican Party announced today his intentions to campaign to be the next Charleston County Republican Party Chairman. Jordan Bryngelson will likely face a host of challengers. Current Chairman Maurice Washington who has said for months he wouldn't run is now rumored to be considering a run, as well as Political Consultant Andrew Boucher of Ascent Strategic.
The race is expected to be contentious with Charleston turning more blue with multiple county wide elected official positions such as the Sheriff being an elected Democrat for the first time in decades.
