New Library Design Unveiled for Downtown Summerville

Summerville, S.C. - Dorchester County Government has presented the public with a new design of the upcoming 15,000-square-foot library in the historic district of Summerville.

The library will be positioned in front of the YMCA and will be part of a broader effort to construct new libraries in Oakbrook, North Charleston, and Ridgeville.

The construction of these libraries was made possible by a 2019 referendum, which granted $30 million for the acquisition of land, design, and construction of libraries in Summerville, North Charleston, and Ridgeville.
