The debate over legalizing medical marijuana continues for a third week in the SC Senate. Members of the senate deliberated through Wednesday and Thursday; however, coming to no conclusion, adjourning without a vote.
Senator Tom Davis, the bill writer, says he made the bill conservative based on a concern from law enforcement and others.
The bill limits people to using oils, patches, or vaporizers, and those using medical marijuana would not be allowed to smoke it.
Doctors would be required to meet with patients in person and check for any history of substance abuse while creating written treatment plans.
