A month ago, Live5News reported that two former teacher assistants are facing charges after allegedly assaulting a special needs student.
The first incident occurred May 10, 2023. In the incident report, the assigned Officer describes his observations from watching the surveillance video of the autism room regarding former teacher assistant Emily Westermann and the victim. The report can be viewed below. Westermann is charged with a 3rd degree, misdemeanor assault and battery that carries up to $500 fine and/or 30 days confinement.
In the course of reviewing the video from the Autism room, the Officer noted another incident on May 8, 2023, occurred which involved teacher assistant Patricia Fuller. Fuller is charged with felony unlawful placing a child at risk or causing harm punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.

Emily Westermann is charged with third-degree assault and battery, according to Live5News. Patricia Fuller is charged with unlawful conduct towards a child, a felony carrying up to 10 years in prison.
